Taos is a cultural mecca in Northern New Mexico.
Starting with the Taos Pueblo, moving to the Spanish and Catholic Churches and Tradiciones, adding the communal meals Hindu practice at the Neem Caroli Baba Center and the best enduring embodiment of Taos' commune culture and communal meals, ziccar dancing, shabbat and all sorts of retreats at the Lama Foundation, and more than a sprinkle of amaizing theater talent at the Taos Center for the Arts and Wisefool Theater, and home to countless Earthships and environmental initiatives and solar architecture.

Taos History

A First Nation People, Taos Pueblo village was established almost 1,000 years ago.  Four hundred years of spanish influence, as seen in adobe building and acequias system, to name two of the host influences presented to the public.  Also are the anglo influences, especially the artistic influences charactaristic of the newcomers in the 1920's and 1950's and the hippy influences charactaristic of the newcomers in the 1960's and 1970's  -  for more click here History
